Call for Workshop Proposals

The DSN 2027 Workshops aim to provide a forum where researchers can gather and engage in discussions about various aspects of dependability- and security-related research and its practical applications. DSN workshops cover a wide range of topics, serving as incubators for specific scientific communities with shared research goals. They also offer a valuable opportunity for researchers to exchange and explore scientific ideas in their early stages, well before reaching the level of maturity required for conference or journal publications.

Important Dates

  • Submission deadline: January 13, 2027
  • Notification to organizers: January 27, 2027

List of Topics

DSN is interested in workshop proposals on topics that represent either complementary areas to the main conference or a large active subarea. Topics from recent DSN workshops include, but are not limited to:

  • Adaptive, Mobile and Ubiquitous System Dependability
  • Analysis of Reliability and Security Data
  • Cellular and Communication Network Dependability
  • Dependability and Security of Virtualization Technologies
  • Cyber-physical and Autonomous Systems Dependability and Trustworthiness
  • Dependability Assessment of Complex Systems and Critical Infrastructures
  • Dependability and Security of Quantum Computing and Emergent Hardware
  • Dependability of AI, Machine Learning, and Data-driven Systems
  • Dependability Issues in Software-Defined and Programmable Networks
  • Dependability and Resilience of Cloud, Edge and Fog Computing
  • Privacy, Trust, and Acceptability in Dependable Systems
  • Formal, Analytical, and Experimental Methods for Dependability Evaluation
  • Safety and Security of Intelligent Vehicles
  • Dependability of Distributed Ledgers and Blockchains
  • Cyber Resilience Regulations, Frameworks, and Strategies
  • Visualization Techniques for Dependability, Reliability, and Resilience Analysis
  • Reliability for space/new space market, including space data centers

Submission of Workshop Proposal

Please submit your workshop proposal by January 13, 2027, by e-mail to workshops@dsn.org.

The workshop proposal should be a two-page PDF file, following the two-column IEEE conference template.

The workshop proposal should provide a concise overview of the project's scope, key topics, and objectives. It should also provide information on how the Technical Program Committee (TPC) will be formed, as well as any additional relevant information concerning the organization and planned format of the workshop.

Notification to Proposers and Publication

Workshop proposers will be notified of the outcome of their submission after the proposals have been reviewed. Submission schedules for the selected workshops will be directly communicated to the proposal submitters.

Acceptance will be based on an evaluation of the workshop potential for generating useful results, the timeliness of and expected interest in the topic, and the ability of the proposers to lead a successful workshop. All accepted workshops will be held in person during the conference week.

Accepted workshops will have a two-page proceedings format summary (provided by the workshop organizers) published in the main proceedings of the conference. Articles presented at the workshop itself (including keynote abstracts, summaries, short papers, etc.) will be included in the supplement to the DSN conference proceedings (DSN-W volume), and will be made available on IEEE Xplore. The workshop web sites will be linked through the main DSN conference website, and the Workshop Call for Papers will be advertised through the DSN mailing lists.

Organizers are expected to perform any additional advertising in related communities outside the main DSN community, to create and maintain the workshop website, arrange for the collection and refereeing of submissions, and to coordinate the collection and delivery of camera-ready material and IEEE copyright transfers.
